Nancy L. Lanard grew up in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, area where she was a magna cum laude graduate from the University of Pennsylvania in 1974 and received her graduate degree with honors from the same institution in 1975. In 1978 she graduated from Villanova University School of Law where she was in the top ten percent of her law school class and was selected to be on the Law Review. Nancy represents such corporations as Cardsmart Retail Corporation (a franchisor of discounted giftware and cards), Materials Sciences Corporation (engineering consultants), Slingmax, Inc. (international licensor of rigging products), Wireless Xcessories Group, Inc. (publicly traded national wholesaler of wireless accessories), Doctors Pathology Services, PA (providing pathology services with a patented medical concept), Trash Butler, LLC (service organization), Rita's Water Ice Franchising Corporation, (franchisor of Italian ices, ice cream, gelati, etc.) Saladworks, Inc. (franchisor of quick casual salad restaurants), and real estate developers, medical joint venture partners, computer software development companies, general contractors, as well as franchisees and potential franchisees of a myriad of franchises. Nancy's experience has included general corporate and real estate counseling (including negotiating and drafting contracts, handling the purchase and sale of businesses, and representing businesses in the buying, selling, developing, managing, and leasing of real estate); assistance with hiring, firing, promoting and managing employees and the issues surrounding those actions; preparing financing documentation; advising on Federal regulations; and drafting and negotiating documentation for the sale and acquisition of franchises, including preparing Uniform Franchise Offering Circulars and franchise agreements. She has overseen mass tort litigation of over 500 personal injury/product liability lawsuits, responded to Federal investigations, advised on American's with Disabilities Act compliance, prepared employment manuals, assisted with trademark and patent licensing, and provided bankruptcy and antitrust advice. Nancy is a member of the American Bar Association Business Law Section and Forum on Franchising, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Montgomery County Bar Association's Business Law Section and Franchise Law Committee. She is an Ambassador for the Suburban Horsham Willow Grove Chamber of Commerce, on the Board of Directors of PBN (Professional Business Network), active in the Women's Resource Group of the Eastern Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, and former chair of the Women's Business Resource Network of the Horsham Chamber of Commerce.
